With a centrally-located Bristol setting, The Cowshed's relaxed and comfortable atmosphere provides the perfect setting for a special occasion.

Whether choosing to dine from a menu inspired by our head chef, or from your own bespoke, tailor-made menu; each dish presented to your invited guests will have been created with the same considered and dedicated approach to sourcing as locally as possible.

The Cowshed events team will be as involved in the planning process as you wish; from liaising with our talented local florist in the dressing of the room, to the design and printing of personalised menus to suit the occasion. We do not operate a room-hire charge, but do require a minimum spend on food and drinks purchases.

Originally opened in 1921, the Grade II listed Whiteladies Picture House has seen many changes during its ninety-year history.

Functioning as a cinema and ballroom for almost eighty years, the doors of number 44 were closed to the public in 2001 and remained so for a number of years, before the basement and ground floor were both transformed into an extension of number 46’s Cowshed Restaurant in 2013

Sympathetically restored from a state of disrepair, the large windows and high ceilings help to create a light, open and airy space, whilst acting as a serene antidote to the hustle and bustle of Whiteladies Road

Comfortably seating up to fifty guests (with more for a standing canapé reception) the rustic butcher-block tables can be laid into long banquet-style formations for a relaxed social gathering, or alternatively, with the addition of a pressed linen tablecloth, the room can be transformed into an elegant dining hall, fit for a more lavish event.
